Volunteer
We are a young foundation, and volunteers do real work here. Tell us what you are good at and we will find the right place for you.
Tell us what your family needed, and when. Your experience shapes every program we build.
Help us get the medical details right and point families toward the right care.
Advise on our grant priorities and help us see where the real gaps are.
Governance, policy, and the paperwork that keeps a foundation honest and funded.
Our website, our materials, and keeping everything we publish available in Spanish.
Share what we publish, talk to your community, and help Texas families find us.
You do not need a medical or nonprofit background to help. Tell us how much time you have and what you enjoy doing, and we will be honest about where it would make the most difference.
We are looking for a Vice President of Communications and a Treasurer. This is a working board, so these are real jobs rather than honorary titles. If you have experience in either and you care about Texas families facing rare genetic disease, we would like to hear from you.
Board positions are volunteer. Any compensation is set out in our bylaws and governing documents.
Tell us what helped your family and what was missing, so the help we build fits real families.
Tell us where families get stuck on the road to a diagnosis, and which specialists and centers families should know about.
Tell us about your work in children's genetics, even though our grants are not open yet.
Share what you know about running a nonprofit well, from budgets to volunteers to grants.
Help us understand the laws that affect families, such as health privacy, and how they apply to the Lone Star Genome Act proposal.
Help us keep our website and materials clear and easy to use for every family, in English and Spanish.
